Welcome to another Brae-er Team Blog Hop! If you arrived here from Tamara’s blog, you’re on the right track. If you are starting here, just keep hopping until you get back.
This month we’re focusing on the new Seasonal Expressions catalogue, but with an added requirement to also showcase product from our big Annual Inspirations Idea Book.
I pulled out a photo of my silly boy. This was one of the photos taken this past July with our family photo session. If you follow my blog, you’ve seen a pile of artwork made with photos from that session. This was one of my favourites of Nathaniel. It shows his character and personality right now. No, he’s not getting into lots of trouble, but he is a dinosaur. A lot. Almost. All. The. Time! And I’m not exaggerating. Here’s my layout:
Yup, that’s my boy. He’s a character alright. You’re allowed to just shake your head and chuckle. I won’t be offended.
On to the crafty details. I started by pulling out my Later Sk8r Picture My Life cards. I layered some behind the photo and cut a large one apart to create the large title. The top tab is also trimmed from the same large card. I used some pieces of Boardwalk Washi Tape (Yay for more washi!!) and retired Slate washi and stamped some images from brand new stamp sets in Black ink. I doodled a double line around the whole layout and on the first title piece. I also outlined the letters on the other two title pieces to make them stand out a bit more. I added some Aqua Dots to finish it off. I still wasn’t happy with it, too much white space, so I got my waterbrush and my Outdoor Denim ink pad and after strategically covering different parts of my layout, splashed some ink on it. Now I love it! Here are some detail shots so you can see the fun stuff:
Here’s what I used.
Now, hop on over to Heather’s Paper Playroom to check out what she’s created. Happy hopping!
