I was so excited to find out a layout I poured my heart into was chosen by Canadian Scrapbooker for their most recent issue. I submitted it just hours before the call closed. I really wanted to share it with you because it is one of those layouts I just love. It makes me smile when I look at it. Do you have projects like that? I hope so. It’s what really makes the act of creating extra special. Here is my layout:
Do you see why it’s so special to me? It celebrates the relationship I have with my twin brother. We’ve always been close, right from the get go. In fact, I only remember a time during Grade 11 that we really didn’t get along so much. I snuck that photo of us at 5 years old away from my mom. Then I scanned it and did a bit of colour correction before printing it off again. The top photo on the “Then” side was taken at a Winter banquet while I was in University and the bottom photo on that side was taken a couple of years ago. My brother is an important person in my life and I love that this craft, my job even, allows me to celebrate that. (Love ya, freak. 😉 )
You’ll find this layout on page 45 of the Fall 2015 issue. Everything I used, except the canvas border, is from Close To My Heart. That border is from Little Yellow Bicycle.
Now, go! Gather some photos that span the years of a special relationship and celebrate it!
