Back to the Cross Canada Hop!

I am thrilled to be back on the Cross Canada Blog Hop!  Life has been so crazy lately, for so many different reasons, and I’ve had to let my blog go, and to be honest, I’m not sure how much blogging I can do in the near future … but I’m here today!  If you’ve arrived from Arlene’s Creative Space, you are in the right spot.

We are super excited to be sharing projects from the new Annual Inspirations catalogue and let me tell you, it is gorgeous.  I love all the new paper packs and stamps and embellishments and storage solutions and Cricut collections (yes, there’s more than 1!).  But, I wanted to focus on how easy it is to create a beautiful layout, quickly, with our new Whimsy paper and Complements and a few extra touches.  Here’s the page I made:

Whimsy Fundamentals layout by Krista Ritskes #simplycreating

I created this layout during my fundraising crop on Saturday, and since I was running the event, it did take me all day.  But I do know anyone else could put this together in a snap.

The base page is a sheet of our new Toffee cardstock and the other papers are from the Whimsy Fundamentals pack, other than a bit of Canary and White Daisy cardstock for the photo mat and the strip in the top right.  I sponged Toffee ink on all the papers before I assembled the page. (Haven’t done that technique in a while!)  Then I added a sticker in the top left, some gorgeous white sparkly die cuts in different spots around the page along with a small stamped image from a stamp set I received at convention.  I made sure to add some journaling and I finished things off with some Gold Pearls and a gold Heart Clip.  And done.  Here are a couple of close ups.  The white sparkle is so much more sparkly in real life.

This page is inspired by one that Brenda Rose showed us at convention using the Enchantment Fundamentals.  I love how this turned out and how the more muted colours allow the photograph to shine.  It doesn’t take much to record your memories and now I have this great group shot of my team scrapbooked and ready for an album.

It’s now time to move on to Brae’s blog and see what stunning project she has created for you.  Happy hopping!  And don’t forget that if you love something you see here on the hop, be sure to contact your consultant.

Clean, simple and easy – the best way to be! Your page tells the story and that’s what is important. Love the colours and the pop of blue. Nice!
