Back to the Cross Canada Hop!

I am thrilled to be back on the Cross Canada Blog Hop!  Life has been so crazy lately, for so many different reasons, and I’ve had to let my blog go, and to be honest, I’m not sure how much blogging I can do in the near future … but I’m here today!  If you’ve arrived from Arlene’s Creative Space, you are in the right spot.

We are super excited to be sharing projects from the new Annual Inspirations catalogue and let me tell you, it is gorgeous.  I love all the new paper packs and stamps and embellishments and storage solutions and Cricut collections (yes, there’s more than 1!).  But, I wanted to focus on how easy it is to create a beautiful layout, quickly, with our new Whimsy paper and Complements and a few extra touches.  Here’s the page I made:

Whimsy Fundamentals layout by Krista Ritskes #simplycreating

I created this layout during my fundraising crop on Saturday, and since I was running the event, it did take me all day.  But I do know anyone else could put this together in a snap.

The base page is a sheet of our new Toffee cardstock and the other papers are from the Whimsy Fundamentals pack, other than a bit of Canary and White Daisy cardstock for the photo mat and the strip in the top right.  I sponged Toffee ink on all the papers before I assembled the page. (Haven’t done that technique in a while!)  Then I added a sticker in the top left, some gorgeous white sparkly die cuts in different spots around the page along with a small stamped image from a stamp set I received at convention.  I made sure to add some journaling and I finished things off with some Gold Pearls and a gold Heart Clip.  And done.  Here are a couple of close ups.  The white sparkle is so much more sparkly in real life.

This page is inspired by one that Brenda Rose showed us at convention using the Enchantment Fundamentals.  I love how this turned out and how the more muted colours allow the photograph to shine.  It doesn’t take much to record your memories and now I have this great group shot of my team scrapbooked and ready for an album.

It’s now time to move on to Brae’s blog and see what stunning project she has created for you.  Happy hopping!  And don’t forget that if you love something you see here on the hop, be sure to contact your consultant.

May Stamp of the Month: Celebrating Friendship

posted in: Layouts, Stamp of the Month | 0

May’s stamp of the month is a beautiful set with gorgeous big words and lovely flowers, perfect for colouring.  I used it to make a one-page layout celebrating a special friendship with my Close To My Heart upline (the person I signed up under).

This photo was taken at convention last year and it is definitely one of my favourites of the two of us.  I didn’t want the journaling out for everyone to see so I tucked it behind my photo, creating a pocket by popping the photo with Foam Tape.

Here are a few close ups of the stamped images.

The flowers were all coloured with ShinHan markers.  I also added circles from the Doodled Designs stamp set and some watercolour splashes to add interest to my white base.  The words above the photo are from the This & That stamp set.  The other embellishments are from the Some Kinda Wonderful complements and Black and White Dots.

Want to see what the stamp set looks like?  Click here to pop over to my website.  Remember, you can get this set for just $6 with an order of $50.  And while you’re there, check out the amazing Live Beautifully products only available for the month of May.

What relationship will you celebrate this month?

I know you’re pressed for creative time.  You’re probably thinking “Creative time??? I’m pressed for any kind of time!”  Life is busy, so before I get into all the new products that were just released I wanted to share my latest workshop kit with you.  You love cute cards and you love giving them away but you just don’t have time to create them.  This kit will take you no time at all to put together and you can still claim that you made them.  (heehee)  There is minimal stamping and it’s all been done for you anyway!  All you need to do is glue, pop if you want, and add the sparkles.  Here’s what you can create:

The kit includes all papers pre-cut, card bases and envelopes, a full pack of Some Kinda Wonderful Complements (glitter chipboard and stickers) white twine, and lots of 2 sizes of sparkles.  I have only a few kits left over from my workshop last week and you can snag one!  They’re $35 if you come pick them up.  I can pop one in the mail for you for an additional $8.

Send an etransfer to simplycreating@hotmail.com or contact me to claim one.

It’s a new month and I will admit, a SUPER busy one for me!  So, I’m only going to pop in quickly this week to share our awesome promotion.  If you’re like me, life is busy, and sometimes it means that our crafting time gets much shorter.  Enter Close To My Heart’s Cut Above kits!  We have 2 fabulous kits available right now. {There’s more coming! … Shhh.  I didn’t tell you that. 😉 }

The first kit is a baby-themed one, but I’ve seen people do pet pages or other things with this set as well.

Each set comes with everything you need to complete a 2-page layout, and 2 pocket-pages (both sides), including the protectors.  The only thing you need is adhesive!

Here’s the other one: a wedding themed kit.  But again, I’ve seen people create family and friend-themed pages with this kit.

Aren’t they gorgeous?!?!  And they assembly in a snap.  It’ll probably take you longer to pick which photos to use!

So, what’s the promo?  You can get these kits for 50% off this month!  That’s only $9.50 (shipping will be charged on the retail price).  And, if you join the CTMH family as a consultant, you get to choose a kit for FREE.

Don’t miss out on your chance to get some treasured memories into an album quickly and simply.  Click here to check them out.
