Your New Challenge for May!

posted in: Cards | 5

Okay ladies, it’s a new month and therefore time for a new challenge.
I just love the new tree stamp sets in the Summer Idea Book. They are so cute and completely on trend. So to celebrate the arrival of spring, finally, when our trees are now budding, your challenge is to create artwork with trees on it somewhere. It can be a stamped image, or made out of paper, or even in the shape of a tree. Wow me with your work and I’ll award the most creative with a prize! You’ll have to see who wins to find out what great little gift she gets. You can either post a comment here with a link to your artwork or email me a photo of your entry at simplycreating@ritskes.net.

To get you thinking about this challenge here’s a peek at one of those new tree stamp sets and the Animal Cookies paper pack.

So because I know you’re just dying to see the new product, I’m going to post some photos of artwork made with the new paper packs. Look closely, you’ll see lots of new product as well. Drum roll, please…

Nathaniel is 18 months old and I’m finally starting to work on his baby book. The first page will be the title page. It uses a retired paper pack called Lazy Days of Summer. The next layout is, obviously, about my pregnancy. It looks a little girly for a boy’s album, but I thought I’d run with it anyway. I love the paper and I think it matches my photos well. The paper is from our Key to My Heart promotion a while ago. Just click to see a larger photo.
And a couple close-ups. The letters are Dimensional Elements. I sponged Creme Brulee ink on them, edged them with Cocoa and then stamped on top.
I know these two photos are backwards; I can’t seem to get them switched. I’m still learning what layout is best. My apologies.
