Document the School Years with “You’ve Got Class”

posted in: General Info | 0

Where I live school is about to start.  In just a week, the kids will be back in school and all the fun “stuff” will start coming home again.  What do you do with all the artwork and papers and photos that come out of each school year?  What if I told you that Close To My Heart has the answer?

The You’ve Got Class kit has everything you need to create layouts using TrueFit Folios from Kindergarten to Grade 12!  Each Folio, which is essentially a 12×12 file folder, will create the base for 2 grades.  The instructions also show you how to create a divider inside the folio so you can easily separate the 2 grades.

There are a number of different options for purchasing what you need for this project.  There’s an exclusive paper pack and stamp set.  The project also uses a current stamp set you may already have in your stash.  Just be aware that this special is while supplies last, so don’t wait too long to order or you may lose out!

Click here for all the details.

I know it seems nearly impossible to scale down all the precious items that come home so that it will all fit in this one pocket.  Here’s how I deal with it.  At the end of the year, we lay everything out so my kids and I can see it all.  We each choose 5 items that we don’t think we could possibly part with, and that number can change depending on how much there is.  Maybe you can each only choose 3.  That way your child has a few items that show what’s been important to them and you also get to keep the ones that touched your heart in a special way.  I have found that discovering what my kids choose opens a window into who they are at the moment and you can even add some journaling about that!

Have fun!  And happy Back to School!

Let’s Add a Little Magic

We’ve gone back into the vault and brought out a favourite, Magical!  Now it’s been updated with new (and yet to be released) colours.  Not only that, but our home office art department has created a beautiful set of instructions for creating some super fun layouts and cards.

Check out some of the projects you can create.

Aren’t they cute?  There’s a special package of products all put together so you can create these projects.  You can check it all out on my website by clicking here.  There are a lot of options on how to get the products used in the cards and layouts, too many to list here.

It includes the paper, embellishments and a stamp set that was previously given to consultants who attended convention a while ago.  Now you get to play with it, too.  🙂

If you’re a Disney lover, then this pack is for you.  But, I have used this paper for non-Disney themes as well.  I just can’t seem to find the photos of those projects right now. Hee hee.  Happy Creating!

Cross Canada Blog Hop: Let’s Document It!

posted in: Layouts, Workshop Your Way | 10

Welcome to another Cross Canada Blog Hop!  If you arrived here from Diana’s blog you’re on the right track.  If you’re starting here, just keep clicking the links at the bottom of each post and when you make your way back here, you’ve feasted your eyes on all that we have to offer.  If you get lost along the way for some reason, the full list can be found on Michelle’s blog.  Now, on to the artwork!

This month we are focusing on the Documented paper suite, and I think this one might be my absolute favourite from the Seasonal Expressions 2 catalogue.  Let’s start with what you can find in the Workshop Your Way kit.

Documented WYW kit
Kit contents:
1 – Documented paper packet (X7234B)
1 – Documented Complements (X7234C)
4 – cardstock sheets (2 Linen, 1 Saffron, 1 White Daisy)
1 – Documented titles (Z4171)
1 – Documented dots (Z4177)
printed instructions
photo placeholders

I had a lot of fun with this kit and the layouts are beautiful.  I wasn’t able to find photos in time for my third layout, but I look forward to taking some photos of my daughter to add to it.  The first layout worked perfectly for our weekend away to Stratford to indulge in my first love, live theatre!  And the second one was great for documenting the relationship my kids have.

I used the 4×6 space to put 2 smaller photos of my husband and I at the two different shows.  I also used my photo-editing software to put two even smaller photos together for one of the 3×4 spots.
Not all the photos I wanted to use had colours that matched, so I changed those ones to black and white.
All ready for photos!

It’s time to hop on over to Brae’s blog and see what she’s created with this gorgeous paper suite.  We are in the last month of this catalogue, so if you see something you like, be sure to contact your consultant right away so you don’t miss out.

Happy Creating!
